A Still Tongue Makes a Wise Head

This proverb probably has its origins in the Book of Proverbs, chapter 17 verse 8:

"Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding" (King James version).

"Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues" (New International version).
